Hmmm… I’ve been thinking. Thinking about what I should write, for a long time.
And I don’t
know.
I don’t
know because there’s so much to write about, and I don’t know what people want
to hear. Everyone wants to read something different, and I can’t think of anything
that I want to write myself. Writers block they call it.
People like
learning about complicated things – like space. Did you know that sunsets on Mars
are blue? Or that the Sun is 330,000 times bigger than the earth? I didn’t. People
like reading about things that they didn’t know before and I love writing about
new topics. I want to write something that will excite someone, teach them something
which they didn’t know before.
I was
thinking of writing a review on a horror movie or interviewing someone about a
paranormal experience. People love the unexplained because we love being scared
for some reason. My favourite movie is Coraline. It’s a children’s
horror film which is quite frankly terrifying. It’s about a girl who goes to a
parallel universe that seems amazing at first, but it’s actually filled with
evil. Give it a watch if you’re brave enough.
I love to
read inspiring articles. Black lives matter, feminism, and sexuality. I feel
like these are topics that people write about often. People aim to inspire, but
I’ve read so many articles about ‘isms’. How much more can we really read until
there’s change? I want to write an article with hard hitting facts, one that
will show people that we really need change. As of July 2020, homosexuality is
illegal in 72 countries. Some people think we have complete equality - we
don’t.
Animals.
People like animals. My favourite animal is in fact a sheep because they’re
like fluffy clouds and I think that’s adorable. I also love stingrays. Random I
know. But isn’t it crazy how stingrays are just so strange looking? They’re
flat like little pancakes. The shoebill is a strange looking animal. It’s a bird
which doesn’t look real but really is – google it – you won’t be disappointed.
Times are
changing and with it, so is fashion. I’ve noticed on social media at the moment
that so many artists such as Harry Styles and YungBlud are breaking gender normality’s
with what they’re choosing to wear. I find this amazing. People are becoming
more interested in make–up, I’ve seen it all over TikTok. More people are dying
their hair, I’ve recently dyed mine dark blue. I could write some kind of
article on fashion?
I like to
read about people’s life experiences, anything hard hitting or relatable. I
could write a personal article about my experiences with generalised anxiety
disorder. It could help someone; others may be able to relate. At some point I
probably will, but it’s so normalised within my life that to me, it doesn’t
seem worthy of writing about.
When
writing an article, there’s more to think about than people who don’t write
would think. You have to consider your target audience, what topics you want to
include and if someone will actually enjoy reading your article. I don’t know
who to write for. I don’t know what topics I’m passionate about anymore because
I’m losing motivation in this lockdown.
People want
a way out of everyday life. What can I write that someone will find
interesting? How can I write
something different? What do I want to write about?
I know.
I’ll write
an article about everything.
Interesting article, look foward to more
